Third-party rights, such as those in GIFs from GIPHY, remain unaffected.

Satire notice

ADpokalypse NØW is satire. Brands, agencies, products and characters appearing in the game are fictional or the subject of recognizably satirical reference. Ads generated in the game are AI-generated and advertise nothing that exists.

Your key, your costs

The game runs on your own API key. Your contract is with the AI provider of your key, and all costs arise there. We have no access to your key and no influence on billing. The cost estimate shown in the game is non-binding and may differ from your bill. If you want to cap costs reliably, set a spending limit with your provider.

AI-generated content

Texts, characters, ads, images and music are produced at runtime by AI models. They are AI-generated, entirely fictional and meant as satire. They may be inaccurate, inappropriate or offensive and, in individual cases, may resemble real people, companies or brands. They are not statements of fact and not advice, whether medical, legal or financial. The GIFs come from GIPHY and are neither selected nor reviewed by us; you can report inappropriate GIFs to GIPHY. If content bothers you, end the run or write to us.

For adults

The game is intended for people aged 18 and over. The AI providers require a minimum age of 18 for their API access, for example Google for the Gemini API.

No warranty

The game is provided free of charge and without warranty. There is no entitlement to availability or to particular results. We are liable for damages only in cases of intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body and health. Mandatory statutory liability, for example under the Product Liability Act, remains unaffected.

2. The short version

This website sets no cookies and uses no tracking, no analytics tools and no ad networks. There are no user accounts and no server database of our own. The game runs entirely in your browser; saved games never leave your device.

3. Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)

The website is delivered via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you access it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, date and time, requested resource, user agent) to deliver it securely and quickly and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). The transfer to the USA relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which Cloudflare is certified. We do not store access logs ourselves.

4. Your API key and the AI providers

The game uses an API key that you bring yourself. Your inputs and the game context are transmitted directly from your browser to the provider of your key, depending on the key to Anthropic PBC, Google LLC or OpenRouter, Inc. The respective provider's privacy terms apply there; the providers are based in the USA. We do not receive, see or store your key or your game content. The key is not stored permanently: it stays in the browser's memory until the page is reloaded and is never transmitted to us.

5. GIFs (GIPHY)

To illustrate game scenes, your browser calls the interface of Giphy, Inc. (New York, USA). In the process, your IP address, the search term of the respective scene and the usual technical connection data are transmitted to GIPHY; GIPHY's privacy policy applies. The transfer to the USA relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which GIPHY states that it is certified. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (providing the game content, whose illustration is a core part of the concept).

6. E-mail contact

If you write to us at contact@adpokalypsenow.com, we process your e-mail address and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). The address is forwarded via Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) to a mailbox at Google (Gmail; Google LLC, USA). The transfer to the USA relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or on the providers' standard contractual clauses. We keep your message for as long as needed to handle it and delete it afterwards, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

7. Local storage in the browser

Saved games, settings (such as language and model choice) and the career profile are stored exclusively locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to us. This storage is strictly necessary for the function you explicitly requested (saving and resuming the game) and is therefore exempt from consent under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG. You can delete it at any time via your browser's site data.

8. Fonts, scripts, game assets

All fonts (including the brand and headline fonts used dynamically in the game), scripts and game assets are delivered locally from this website; no connections to Google Fonts or content delivery networks are made. Third-party connections exist only to the services described in the sections “Your API key and the AI providers” and “GIFs (GIPHY)”.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21), as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the one at your place of residence. Since we store practically no personal data apart from your e-mails to us, it is best to address requests about the AI providers and about GIPHY directly to those providers; at contact@adpokalypsenow.com we are glad to help anyway.
